. . . Until we want our actors to have their lines memorized. Rehearsals are going great and we are seeing a lot of our actors really throwing themselves into their characters. This play is going to knock everyone's socks off!
This week we will be running through the whole play on Monday. We will work on Act I Tuesday and Act II on Thursday. As usual, Thursday's rehearsal will be at the Opera House.
See you all tomorrow!
We hope everyone has been enjoying a fun holiday season. We continue to hear glowing reports about our Pocahontas production and we are so appreciative to all those who helped behind the scenes and to everyone who attended the performances. The Opera House volunteers had to scramble to print more programs to accommodate the large turnout. We've also received word that there were representatives from the Delaware Division for the Arts in the audience who were so impressed they returned for the second performance. We are so proud of all our young actors and the positive impact they are having on the arts in their community.
We are also happy to report that our first Master Class Workshop was a great success. Our participants got the chance to stretch their wings and develop their skills in improvisation, expression, script adaptation, and even a little directing. It was so much fun, we can't wait to do it again!
But first, we are gearing up for our spring play, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". This will be our most ambitious undertaking so far, but we are excited to see this classic story come to life. Auditions will be at Providence Creek Academy on January 6 and 8. Registration will be from 6:30 to 7:00, and auditions will be over no later than 8:00 p.m. You are welcome to attend one or both nights. Casting decisions will be made by January 9 and rehearsals will begin January 12. Children ages 8 to 18 are welcome to audition for acting roles or sign up to work behind the scenes. Rehearsals will be held Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., and the performances will be April 24 & 25 at 7 p.m. at the Smyrna Opera House. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
Happy New Year and we hope to see you all in January!
Since our old web server went out of business, we have been looking for a new home for our website. It will take a little while before everything is fully up and running, so bear with us. The web address is the same, but the look is all new. Hope you like it!
